Politico reported that the Pentagon has not made a decision regarding the transfer of American MQ-9 Reaper drones to Ukraine.

According to the newspaper’s sources, the US fears “the transfer of secret technologies.” In addition, the US is concerned that some drones “are almost certain to be shot down.”

As the newspaper writes, while the Pentagon was studying the possibility of supplying Ukraine with MQ-9 Reaper drones, Kyiv used the Turkish Bayraktar TB2, but “they became a target for Russian air defense systems.” This raised concerns from the Pentagon about how their drones would perform in such conditions.

In September, the Wall Street Journal reported that a group of US congressmen pleaded with Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin to hand over high-tech combat drones to Ukraine.
