The actress Annie Wersching died suddenly early Sunday morning from cancer. Forty-five years old was Wersching.
Renee Walker, an FBI agent, was her most famous character from the television drama “24.” Stephen Full, Wersching’s spouse, issued the following statement:
“This family now has a gaping hole in its spirit. She did, however, provide us with the means to do so. In the most mundane situation, she discovered wonder. She could dance without any accompaniment. She showed us that we shouldn’t wait for the adventure to find us. Locate it. It’s all over. And we’ll locate it,” he wrote.
Wersching also contributed to Tess’ voice in the video game “The Last of Us.” Following Wesching’s demise, Neil Druckmann, the creator of the upcoming HBO Max series “The Last of Us,” which is based on the game, tweeted:

“I just learned that a beloved friend, Annie Wersching died away. We just lost a wonderful artist and person. My heart is broken. The people she loves are in our thoughts.
The “Handmaid’s Tale” actress Ever Carradine started a GoFundMe page supporting Annie’s husband and kids “so they may keep living their lives in a manner they know would make Annie proud.”
Wersching was a regular on television dramas throughout the 2000s and into the 2010s. She portrayed Amelia Joffe on the long-running ABC soap “General Hospital” in 2007. Renee Walker, an FBI agent who co-starred with Kiefer Sutherland during the seventh and eighth seasons of the popular Fox television series “24,” was her breakout character.
Wersching’s other significant TV credits include her position as Harry Bosch’s (Titus Welliver) love interest on Amazon Prime’s 2014 series “Bosch,” as well as a recurring role as the wicked vampire Lily Salvatore on The CW’s “The Vampire Diaries.”
Wersching, who portrayed the Borg Queen in “Star Trek Picard” in 2022, often posted pictures of herself on the scene wearing her outfit and expressing gratitude to the prosthetics and makeup artists that transformed her into the cosmic threat. According to IMDb, Wersching’s appearance in “Star Trek Picard,” shown on Paramount+, is one of her most recent career achievements.
On Sunday, Wersching’s husband ended his statement with a touching memory.
“She would shout BYE! Till we were out of sight and into the world as I drove our sons, the genuine joys of her life, down the curving road and street. It’s still ringing. I can hear it. Bye, my friend. Saying, “I love you, little family”.
