Acting Minister of Defense of Slovakia Yaroslav Nad and Ukrainian Ambassador to Slovakia Miroslav Kastran signed a bilateral agreement on the supply of military equipment by Slovakia to Kyiv, including fighter jets.

According to the Slovak agency TASR, we are talking about the supply of 13 Soviet-made MiG-29 fighters and two Kobe air defense systems.

Slovakia has announced that it is supplying Ukraine with its MiG-29 fighters decommissioned in 2022.

The jets are provided to Ukraine free of charge as Slovakia expects $700 million worth of military equipment from the United States and $200 million in aid from the European Union as compensation for what it has provided to Ukraine.
