The season of the captain and goalkeeper of Bayern Munich, the German national team, Manuel Neuer, ended due to a broken leg, according to Instagram today, Saturday.
Neuer posted on his Instagram account a photo of him lying on a bed with his leg in a cast and wrote: “Hey guys what can I say, I could have had the best end of the year. During my quest for peace of mind on skis, I discovered a broken tibia.
He added: “The operation I had yesterday went well. Many thanks to the doctors! But it pains me to admit that this season is over for me.”
Neuer’s long-term injury is a major blow to his team, Bayern Munich, who are keen to maintain their dominance in German football and win their seventh Champions League title.
Neuer recently competed with his country in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, to which Germany said goodbye early as they exited the group stage.
